Our Founder’s Vision

From more than a decade of walking alongside Uganda’s most underserved communities,
David Gatwongere learned one enduring truth: real change begins when people are heard.

“Real change begins when communities are heard.”

Guided by compassion and a belief in community-led approaches, he founded GRiD —
a movement rooted in dignity, Indigenous wisdom, and measurable impact. Today, this
vision continues to guide GRiD’s governance, programs, and partnerships.
